Description
Ascorbic Acid is a fast way to remove rust stains, iron stains and cobalt stains from swimming pool and spa surfaces. Our rust and stain remover is made from food grade product. It is a gentle acid which only removes stains on your pool and stairs. Brushing will not remove iron metal stains from a pool surface, you must use Rust and Iron Stain Remover with ascorbic acid.
Dosage
1 lbs per 10,000 gallons of water.
Direction
- Lower the chlorine level to below 1.0 ppm. A high Chlorine level will prevent the product from working as designed
- Turn motor on. Add 1 lbs per 10,000 gallons of water.
- FOR REMOVAL OF STAINS ON POOL SURFACES, add product as close to the stained area as possible.
- FOR WATER DISCOLORATION, add product evenly around edge of pool
- Let pump run for one hour, while throughly brushing the pool surface. Shut the pump off after one hour. FOR STAIN REMOVAL let sit overnight
- Before turning the pump back on check to make sure the pH is above 7.0. If below 7.0 add a pH increaser to adjust pH to proper range
- Test and rebalance the pool
- For best resutls use a Metal and Stain/Scale Control to temporarily prevent, restaining and water discoloration. Add CuLator Metal Eliminator Ultra 4.0 to eliminate metals from the water
- Slowly add small amounts of chlorine., Maintain a 1.0 ppm to 2.0 ppm for at least 14 days or stains and discoloration may reappear. Pool water may temporarily be cloudy during this time, which is normal
NOTE: Do not swim in the pool until the stain removal process is complete and a normal chlorine residual of at least 1ppm is maintained
NOTE: Operating the pool without chlorine chlorine for a couple of days can create an algae issue Consult your pool dealer to take the steps nessacary to protect your pool from algae during the metal stain removal process
